Big Brother 2017 could be featuring pairs of housemates, it's been revealed.

Celebrity Big Brother may still be on air but you can already apply to audition for summer's Big Brother 2017 now.

And this year Big Brother bosses are looking for duos to apply. A message posted on the official Big Brother Facebook page read: "BIG BROTHER 2017 IS BACK....

"and this time we're looking for PAIRS!"

The BB auditions page says that they're looking for pairs who "fancy yourselves as TV's next duo".

"We're on the lookout for outgoing pairs with strong opinions and stand out personalities from across the UK! You can apply with anyone you consider to be family - wall welcome to apply," the webpage states.

Over the years Big Brother has featured a number of paired housemates, including a mother and daughter, twins and couples.

But could this be the first series with ONLY paired housemates?

We'll of course have to wait to find out.

Big Brother auditions: Apply for BBUK 2017

As with auditions for the latest series earlier this year, there are no more open Big Brother auditions.

Instead you can apply online at BBauditions.com.

With the open auditions ditched, Big Brother UK producers want you to upload a video of yourself to the website to convince them to put you in the house!

The 60 second clip should end with you completing the sentence "I would make a great housemate because..."

You need to be over 18 and have the right to reside in the UK, but other than that there's no restrictions or any rules on what your video should include but be sure to make yourself stand out.

Jason Burrill became the latest winner of Big Brother last July and walked out with a total of £90,000 in his back pocket.

Big Brother 2017 airs on Channel 5.
