Big Brother 2017 has revealed a brand new twist to this year's show.

Celebrity Big Brother may have only just finished but details about this summer's 'civilian' Big Brother 2017 have already been let slip.

In a twist, this year Big Brother bosses asked for ONLY duos to apply. That's right: Only pairs of wannabes could audition for this year's Big Brother.

A message posted on the official Big Brother Facebook page read: "BIG BROTHER 2017 IS BACK....

"and this time we're looking for PAIRS!"

The (now closed) Big Brother auditions page said that they were looking for pairs who "fancy yourselves as TV's next duo".

"We're on the lookout for outgoing pairs with strong opinions and stand out personalities from across the UK! You can apply with anyone you consider to be family - wall welcome to apply," the webpage stated.

Although only pairs could audition, the website did tease that they may be split up during the process. We know how Big Brother likes to twist things...

As with auditions for the previous series last year, there were no open Big Brother auditions.

Instead you could only apply online via a video upload.

"You should try to get the essence of your personality across in your video and what it is about you as a pair that would make the perfect housemate duo! There are no rules about what you should include but you’ve only got 90 seconds to impress – so make it count. Please note there should be no music or singing," said the website.

The closing date for Big Brother auditions was set for earlier this month (February 5), with decisions on which applicants will become housemates now being made.

Jason Burrill became the latest winner of Big Brother last July and walked out with a total of £90,000 in his back pocket.

Big Brother 2017 airs on Channel 5 and is rumoured to begin in June.
