Cleo Higgins will be seen auditioning for The Voice 2013 this weekend, after snubbing Britain’s Got Talent.
The Cleopatra child star will be trying out for the BBC One show on Saturday night, singing Beyonce hit Love On Top.
And Cleo revealed how she snubbed Britain’s Got Talent to audition for Jessie J, Danny O’Donoghue, Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am, saying she didn’t want to be beaten by a dog!
She said: “With The Voice it’s about the voice, with BGT it’s a variety show and you could lose to a dog or a magician.”
However Cleo almost didn’t make it onto the stage, missing her original audition and being forced to travel to Birmingham to make sure she got through to sing for the coaches.
She added: “That’s where I was born, it’s a sign.”
Cleo also told how she and her sisters were also one of the groups originally in talks to take part in ITV2’s The Big Reunion, which featured the reunion of various 90s and 00s bands including Atomic Kitten and Five.
The 30-year-old told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “They approached one of my sisters, she told me about it, but by the time it was happening I was already in The Voice.”
However ITV probably don’t care too much, with a supposed channel insider this month slating the rival show.
They suggested: “Why anyone would want to watch former stars is anyone’s guess.”
They added: “These shows should be about finding a star out of the blue not resurrecting former pop glory.”
The Voice UK starts at 6:45PM on Saturday night on BBC One.
