Jamie Lee Harrison has spilled all on his stunning Britain's Got Talent 2017 audition.

Saturday night was round five of the auditions with another batch of contestants hoping for yeses from the judges.

One of those was 24 year old singer songwriter Jamie Lee Harrison from Newcastle - which went down well with Ant and Dec.

Jamie sang REM's 'Everybody Hurts' and impressed the judges and audience with the powerful performance.

Simon Cowell concluded: "This is what I've been waiting for. I think we've just scratched the surface here, you have a great voice... I heard real soul. You're exactly the kind of person I want to find when we make these shows."

Speaking all about his audition this week, Jamie recalled how he was left shocked by the huge reaction from the judges and live audience.

He explained: When I’m singing, I sometimes get a bit lost in the song and for just a few short seconds, I kind of forgot I was on Britain’s Got Talent.

“At the end of the song, I opened my eyes and realised what was going on and a wave of emotion came over me. It was a lot to take in. I was excited, nervous and happy. I don’t even know what my face was doing. I was just shocked by the reaction.”

In a chat with the official BGT website at ITV.com, Jamie admitted Simon was the one judge he was particularly keen to win over.

Jamie said: “He’s always the guy to impress when it comes to music and sometimes he comes across as scary but he was honestly the most genuine and nicest guy.

“I tried not to look at him to be honest, there was like one second where I think I opened one of my eyes and I looked at him and he was smiling and I was like, ‘Thank God for that’. I got to shake his hand afterwards and he’s such a nice guy and I don’t know why I was so scared of him because he was just so lovely."

With four yeses, Jamie sailed through to the next round and is one of the favourites to make the live shows later this month.

If he does make the, Jamie has something special planned.

He teased: “I feel that maybe I didn’t show my whole vocal range off in the first Audition, so I’d just love to show people my vocal range and pick another song that is close to my heart, that people can relate to and hopefully get the public on board."
