Britain's Got Talent's Beau Dermott is gearing up to release a debut album.

The singer originally wowed the BGT judges in 2016 then aged 12 with her performance of Defying Gravity from musical Wicked.

Now aged 13, she is preparing to release her very first album after signing a music deal with label Decca Records.

Called Brave, the record will be released on Friday, September 1.

Beau told the Nottingham Post: "There's a lot of different genres on my album.

There's Fight Song, by Rachel Platten, which is a pop song. I'm not usually used to singing pop songs but I've quite enjoyed singing it.

"There's Defying Gravity, which is my favourite song ever. There's also When You Wish Upon a Star and Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

And the teenager, whose voice is apparently insured for a whopping £1 million, added: "My album is called Brave because it has a personal meaning to us.

"Recently my dad was diagnosed with cancer, so we had to be brave as a family."

During the 2016 live shows, Beau got a standing ovation from the judges in the semi-finals and topped the public vote in her heat.

The youngster belted out Jekyll & Hyde's Someone Like You live in front of 10 million viewers in the penultimate round.

Beau had previously won her away into the live stages straight from the auditions after getting a golden buzzer from Amanda Holden in the very first show of the series following a performance of Defying Gravity.

That was the same song she performed in the grand final to place fifth in the results.

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV.
