But potentially not as a contestant, rather as a judge.
Dancing On Ice last aired on ITV in 2014 but rumour has it that ITV are looking at a revival either in 2017 or next year.
As yet nothing is confirmed but the Daily Star newspaper has linked James to a potential spot on the judges' desk should the show come back.
"I think it is a great show and I would never say never... that's all I would say," James told the tabloid. "I think it's a great show, I'm pleased it's coming back. I was surprised that it went the first time as they were still getting really good viewing figures.
"I think it's a good thing it's coming back."
James seemed less certain about appearing as a contestant on the series, saying he would be "horrific" on skates, although adding it would be "fun" to give it a go.
Meanwhile, it's been reported that Dancing On Ice's original 'Mr Nasty' judge Jason Gardiner is in talks to return to the panel.
“Jason Gardiner was the most popular judge by far and so he’s already in talks to come back," a source claimed. “It wouldn’t be the same without Jason and so they’re determined to get him back on the panel as viewers absolutely love him."
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "Producers have also had discussions with the other judges as they’re keen to get them all on board.”
Alongside Jason, it's been said that show coaches and creative directors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who won gold in the 1984 Winter Olympics, are also in talks to reprise their roles.
As yet ITV have not officially confirmed a new series of Dancing On Ice.
