Comedian Russell Howard has revealed that he turned down Strictly Come Dancing 2012.
The stand up was invited to join the likes of West End star Denise Van Outen and Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line up.
Speaking to the Daily Star today, Russell revealed that his mum was “gutted” to hear he had turned down the opportunity to appear on the dancing series.
“My mum was gutted, but there’s just no chance I was going to do it,” he told the newspaper.
He joked: “I was flattered they asked, but I really, really can’t dance. I’m like a newborn pony.”
And taking a swipe at the celebs who are appearing, including Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh, Russell added: “And it’d probably mean my career was in trouble if I did it.”
He added: “I’ll stick to the comedy.”
