The panel spoke about how good this year’s celebs were and the scores prove it.

Following the end of the final, it can be revealed that the panel awarded a total of 81 tens throughout the past 13 weeks of live shows.

It was a record high, beating the previous total of 72 set by last year’s series.

Of the individual judges, it’s no real surprise to learn Bruno Tonioli was the most generous and Craig Revel Horwod the least likely to award a perfect score.

In the final a total of 37 tens were handed out.

As always judges Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood marked all of the performances out of 40 but their marks did NOT count: Only public votes decided the winner.

At the end of the night, Alexandra Burke was on top of the scoreboard with a total of 119 points.

However it was Joe McFadden who won Strictly Come Dancing 2017 in the results show, where viewers had all the power.

Reacting to the news, he said: “ “It feels completely surreal and I’m so in awe of everyone who started all those weeks ago. We’ve all become such a tight unit and I love them all to bits.”

Speaking about his pro partner Katya Jones, Joe added: “This woman is the most amazing woman. Thank you so much for sticking with me and persevering, and being the most amazing artist and dancer and counsellor and slave driver! She’s amazing.”

Meanwhile, it was not announced who finished in second, third and fourth place in the Strictly results.

Unlike ITV shows, the BBC does not release the Strictly Come Dancing voting figures.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in the new year.
