The Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line up is a long way off being confirmed but rumoured celebrities are already popping up.

While the previous Strictly cast are still recovering from last year's series, show bosses are already hard at work on this year's show.

A number of all star contestants have been tipped for Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 from Olympians to comics.

Of course whether or not we'll actually see any of them in the ballroom come the launch show in the autumn remains to be seen for a while yet.

For now, here's a run down of the early Strictly Come Dancing 2017 rumoured line up...

Who's on Strictly Come Dancing 2017?

Jessica Ennis Hill
Olympian Jessica Ennis Hill is said to be lined up for 2017's cast after announcing her retirement from athletics. The former heptathlon champ, who won gold in London 2012 and silver in Rio 2016, made a visit to the studio last year.

Joel Dommett
Apparently comic Joel Dommett could be part of the 2017 cast after impressing on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here over on ITV. According to the Daily Star newspaper, Strictly bosses reckon Joel could prove to be a "great signing" for the new series.

Jermain Defoe
England footballer Jermain Defoe has revealed hopes of taking part in Strictly Come Dancing. The sports star, who also plays for Sunderland, reckons he could prove to be quite the mover in the ballroom thanks to some past street dancing experience.


Scarlett Moffatt
Scarlett Moffatt has been tipped to compete in Strictly Come Dancing 2017. The former Goggleboxer, who won last year's I'm A Celebrity, could be set for her next reality TV challenge this autumn.

Mark Labbett
The Chase's Mark Labbett has revealed he's up for a stint on Strictly Come Dancing. The star of ITV's hit game show, also known as The Beast, said: “I’d love to [take part]. Have they got anyone tall enough for me to dance with?”

Steph and Dom Parker
Steph and Dom
Gogglebox stars Steph and Dom Parker have been tipped for Strictly Come Dancing 2017 after the couple performed as Cher and Meatloaf for the live BBC One series Let's Sing and Dance.

Ruth Langsford
Strictly Come Dancing bosses have a potential competitor for their 2017 series in Ruth Langsford, who says she's "desperate" to do the show. "I’m still desperate to do Strictly but they’ve never asked me," she told the Daily Express.

Charlotte Hawkins
Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins has revealed she's up for Strictly Come Dancing. The TV host could follow in the footsteps of co star Susanna Reid who finished as runner up on the show in 2013.

EastEnders actress Samantha Womack is also reportedly on the 'wish list' of stars for Strictly Come Dancing 2017. According to The Sun newspaper, soap star Samantha is wanted for the show which begins in the autumn.

Gemma Atkinson
Emerdale's Gemma Atkinson could be a part of this year's Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line up - if she gets her way. Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Gemma said: “I’d love to do Strictly – I’ve never been asked before but it would be really great to learn how to dance. I’m not sure how I’d handle in the high heels though.

Ellie Simmonds
Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds is another name tipped to appear on Strictly Come Dancing 2017. The sports star has a number of gold medals to her name, winning consecutive titles in the Beijing, London and Rio Olympics over the past decade.

Strictly Come Dancing 2017 will air on BBC One later this year.
