Tonight was the first half of this weekend's X Factor 2012 double bill, as auditions continued in Manchester and Liverpool.
This evening's show featured try outs with the Spice Girls in charge, as guest judge Geri Halliwell joined the panel in Liverpool and Mel B teamed up with Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa in Manchester.
And for the first time this series, we saw some groups!
Although it did take some time before seeing some good ones, with a montage of poor girl groups not doing much to impress the judges.
But The It Girls did manage to cause a war between Take That's Gary and Spice Girl Geri!
Hunky boy group [tag]Times Red[/tag] however did manage to impress the judges, with their performance of Amy Winehouse's Rehab securing a spot in bootcamp - the first boy group of the series through to the next round!
We then moved to Manchester, where [tag]Melanie McCabe[/tag] returned for a third shot of fame, wowing the panel once again with her take on Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Louis told the Dublin based teenager: "Melanie you were so disappointed last year, I know you were. You’ve done it. I’m emotional because I know you’re from Dublin, what people don’t know is that we know each other and I know you have been through a really tough time and I didn’t know you were going to be this good today, I knew you were going to be good but you were incredible and I am so happy for you."
But will Melanie make the live shows this year?
Next up, Jason wanted to become the next Justin Bieber... and meet his idol Tulisa!
After performing Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing for the panel, the N-Dubz stinger gushed: "Jason, I think I’ve found a new toy boy. Loved it, absolutely loved it….I loved the rose, I loved you and I loved the performance, how about that. You wanted my love, you’ve earnt it, I love ya."
Finally, [tag]Christopher Maloney[/tag] tried to get over his nerves to sing for the judges in Liverpool.
He admitted before his audition: " This X Factor is the biggest thing that I’ve ever done. I didn’t realise how big the crowd was gonna be. I’ve never applied for anything like this before, it’s took me five years to actually build up the courage to apply. I’ve downloaded the application form, filled it out, put it in an envelope and ripped it up every year."
After a standing ovation and a place in bootcamp, Christopher reacted: " I‘m absolutely amazed, I didn’t expect that reaction at all, I just didn’t expect anything like that at all."
The show continues tomorrow night on ITV1!
