Jahmene Douglas has claimed he’s “over” his nerves ahead of the first X Factor live show.
We saw Jahmene struggle at bootcamp two weeks ago, seemingly being close to collapse before going out on stage.
But he insisted today: “I just got caught being nervous, everyone was nervous. But I think the traumatic part is over… it’s the final 12.”
He added: “It’s just fine now, it’s fine from here on out. I’ll be singing 100%, that’s the way it should be.”
Jahmene was joined on both This Morning and Daybreak by mentor Nicole Scherzinger, who supported the young performer.
She said: “It’s not just me, it’s everybody else in the UK that’s backing him up and believing in him as well.”
The former Pussycat Doll star added: “His talent is undeniable.”
And Nicole revealed she had been giving Jahmene some secret tips in make up about how to cope with nerves.
The experienced US singer said: “I gave you a top tip in make-up as well, I told him to wiggle his toes in his shoes when he’s singing because it takes your mind off being nervous.
“You stand there, and you wiggle your toes and you don’t think about being nervous. If your performance goes well on Saturday then I’ll take the credit for it. If it’s rubbish, it’s not my fault.”
She joked: “Everyone’s going to be looking at his toes now.”
