Kye Sones has become the latest person to be eliminated from The X Factor 2012.
Last night saw the remaining eight X Factor finalists perform live for the fifth time, singing songs charts that have hit Number One.
This evening, Dermot O'Leary revealed that Rylan Clark and Kye Sones had received the fewest public votes and would have to sing again.
In the sing off the pair went go head to head and the judges - Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh - decided which of the pair stayed and went.
In the sing off, Rylan performed Desree's I'm Kissing You while Kye sang Jason Mraz hit I Won't Give Up.
It was then over to the judges to decide, with both Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger unsurprisingly sticking by their own acts.
Louis Walsh said: "It was an amazing sing off, Rylan proved you really can sing, you have a good voice.
"Kye, I loved the sing off, absolutely. I'm going to do the right thing and the act I have to send home is Rylan."
Tulisa said: "I feel like Kye, that was one of your best vocal performances, and Rylan I feel that was one of your best performances.
"But it's not just a singing competition, it's The X Factor. And the act I look forward to singing each week is Rylan. I've got to go with my heart, the act I'm sending home is Kye."
With the judges' votes tied, the result went to Dead Lock.
With the fewest public votes, the next act to leave the competition was Kye.
The X Factor continues with its live shows next weekend with a Best Of British theme.
Sunday's results show will feature performances from One Direction and Little Mix, as well as one more act being given the boot.
