X Factor 2012: George Shelley says Union J bandmates are like his brothers

Union J (X Factor 2012)

George Shelley has been gushing about his Union J bandmates, describing them as brothers.

The teenager joined trio Triple J at judges' houses to form the new group, who have gone to make it past the halfway point of the live shows.

Hitting back at claims that he was feeling a 'loner' in the group, George said this week: "I love them; they’re like my brothers.

"Jaymi’s the dad of the group – he’s so bossy and without him, nothing would get done! Josh is the funny guy – he’s always cracking everyone up. I’m the cheeky one. JJ is in the clouds, he’s on his own planet and thinking about ponies and stuff all the time!"

And on that rumoured romance with Ella?

Speaking to the official ITV1 X Factor website, George insisted: "Ella is like my little sister. It’s purely platonic. She’s a great girl."

But he did add: "I would perhaps consider dating her after the show. Who knows?"

Meanwhile George revealed one of his highlights of the show so far was the group performances.

He said: "The group ensemble is the highlight of the weekend. You momentarily forget you’re in a competition and everyone is just so chilled out. Your week’s main performance is out of the way and it’s all about having loads of fun with one another."

    Yawn, yawn!
Union J seem nice lads and are a good group.
But there is nothing different about them.
They are not the best boy band left in the show...
