Details of the next stage of The X Factor auditions 2013 have been confirmed this morning.
This year’s judges – Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger – kicked off the first round of try outs last month.
The four piece conclude the first set of auditions in Cardiff today, having already visited London, Glasgow, Manchester an Birmingham.
This year has seen a return of the judging rooms, with the hopefuls having to sing acapella in front of the judges and judges alone to make it through.
Now they face the second half of this year’s new ‘double audition’ format: A performance in front of a live audience.
“The plan is to have the best of both worlds with regard to auditions,” a source said previously, “So the contestants will start with just the judges in an audition room. If they get through then they will go on to an auditorium.
“Bosses believe it will bring more warmth back to the show because they know how popular the audition rooms were with both contestants and the audience at home.”
This year the arena auditions will only be taking place in London, at the massive Wembley Arena.
A 3,000 strong audience of fans will be invited to watch the auditions as with the arena try outs in previous years, as the judges give their opinions on the acts ahead of the bootcamp stages later in the summer.
The Arena auditions will take place between Monday 15th of July and Thursday 18th of July, with two filming sessions each day.
