Saara Aalto has a "big song" lined up to front her new album.
The Finnish singer was runner up on last year's show and signed a record deal with Sony Music shortly after.
Saara's since been in the recording studio and has been working hard on her first record, due out later this year.
Reports today have teased that Saara's chosen a first song to release and it's a "big" one.
A source told Digital Spy: "Saara's very excited – she's just found the lead song for the album.
"The majority will be written by Saara and nearly all of it will be co-written. It's a big song and everyone is very excited."
Speaking earlier this year, Saara said the UK was her "new home" after struggling to launch a career in her home country.
Reflecting on her time on the show, Saara said: "Ever since I was a child I have always dreamed of being an international singer. For many years I worked as a singer in Finland, hoping somebody would give me a chance, but I never found the support that I needed.
"I finally realised that I just had to be brave and take a risk and go out there and chase my dreams!
"That is why I auditioned for The X Factor UK, and has changed my life completely."
Originally from Finland, Saara continued: "I finally feel accepted and loved. It has been amazing how much the British public have supported me and I can't thank you all enough. I have found my place and my new home."
Meanwhile, speaking to BANG Showbiz, Saara revealed she remains in touch with her fellow X Factor finalists after last year's series.
She said: "Some of them came to my birthday party. We are all still quite close.
"I do have the judges phone numbers as well but I haven't seen them since leaving the show. When I release my music I will text Sharon Osborne and ask her about my songs."
