Hollyoaks have confirmed a number of cast departures which had been leaving fans scratching their heads in confusion. The characters in question had disappeared from screens with little explanation as to their whereabouts.
The first of these departures are The Sharpe Family. The Family headed up by Gabby (Phina Oruche) left the village in a hastily re-written fashion as the storylines centred around 13 year old Amber's teenage pregnancy and crush on Principal Rob O'Connor were resolved in a few episodes. In a statement, Hollyoaks confirmed that the characters wouldn't be returning anytime soon.
Also leaving is teenager Anita Roy (Saira Choudrhy) who first burst onto screens in 2008, this week's episodes will see the character flee after tormentor Gaz Bennet is released from prison and swiftly following behind her will be her biological mum, Eva Strong played by Sheree Murphy.
An insider told press ''After two and a half great years Saira is leaving us however the door i being left open for a return. Sadly Sheree must also leave us due to family comittments, it's a shame to see both of them go''
Finally, after his shocking departure from our screens last week, Hollyoaks High headmaster Rob O'Connor (Gary Cargill) will ''remain off screens for the time being'' however his soon to be ex-wife Diane (Alex Fletcher) and his children Sinead and Finn will remain on screen.
Are you shocked to hear of these departures? Will you be sad to see Anita, Eva, Rob and The Sharpes go or are you relieved? Tellymix wants to hear your thoughts!
